Electrofishing is the best way to grasp the health of your fishery. It has the least amount of bias, and when an electrofishing survey is done correctly, it does not kill or bring extensive harm to your fish. Electrofishing targets many different species of fish—from small minnows all the way up to the different large predators that lake owners want to grow. A lake owner will know the population of the different species in the lake and the structure of their population. To properly manage a lake, you have to know exactly what you are starting with. Once this is known, the correct management decisions are much more apparent.
